With an ever increasing amount of counter feit goods being purchased in shops and on auction web sites we are now offering a service where we will check your clubs are authentic and alert the relevant authorities of the source if they are fake. Meet the Team
Born in Salisbury, Richard Blake and Wiltshire Golf have been inseparable for over 25 years.
As an amateur Richard represented Wiltshire at junior and senior level picking up numerous titles including the Wiltshire Schools Championship and the Wiltshire Junior Championship.
Turning Professional in 1990 Richard was based at North Wilts Golf Club building up great respect as a knowledgeable teacher to golfers of all ages. In more recent times Richard has become coach at both county and national level.
Golf professionals specialise in club repairs and Richard operates a highly skilled business in the construction, repair and restoration of golf clubs. Richard has serviced Powakaddy electric golf trolleys since 1990 and his knowledge of them is very comprehensive. As an approved service centre golfers visit from all over the West Country.
Richard is currently based at Upavon Golf Club where he has been since 1993. Working closely with Environmental Consultants Richard was given the opportunity in 1995 to design the current course layout. Opening in May 1997 the 6402 yd par 71 design has received much acclaim for its challenging test over undulating terrain with small well-guarded greens. The course is maturing into one of the county's finest and Richard is still closely involved with its ongoing development.
Out on the golf course Richard has claimed several titles including the Wiltshire Professional Strokeplay Championship 1998, the Wiltshire Professional Matchplay Championship 1996, 1998, 1999 and the West Region PGA Club Professional Championship 1998.
Richard was Secretary/Treasurer of the Wiltshire Professional Golfers Association from 1996 until 2003 and in the role he organised in excess of thirty pro am events. He is now an expert in the promotion and advertising of all types of golf events/corporate days.
In November 2000 Richard strengthened his old links with North Wilts Golf Club to form a strong force in golf retail by operating two shops, seven staff and thousands of pounds worth of equipment. Since then Richard has continued to concentrate on Golf retail and has worked closely with numerous local Golf Professionals to maximize buying power. During the last few years Richard has helped stock four Wiltshire On Course Golf Shops, three local Driving Ranges and five On Course Golf Shops in neighbouring counties.
With this expertise in Golf Retail Richard is currently helping a Major Golf Manufacturer in a consultant position advising on future trading with PGA Professionals as well as working closely with them to help develop new products.
Emma Brown started playing in 1994 and as a Junior won the Wiltshire Girls Junior Championships three times in a row. A key member of the County Junior Team she was selected to be part of the England under 18 squad.
Emma progressed to representing Wiltshire Ladies 1st Team, winning the Wiltshire Ladies County Championship and the South Western Ladies Stroke Play Championship. Currently holding several course records Emma isn’t afraid to shoot a low score when it matters.
Turning Professional Emma ventured onto the South African Ladies Tour and has also played in numerous tour events in England. Bringing this tournament experience to the club Emma will endeavour to fulfil all your golfing needs as both an instructor and knowledgeable club fitter.
During 2008 Emma will be working with the Wiltshire Squad to help improve the County Teams Performance. Short Golf Lesson Breaks at home and abroad are another branch to Emma’s Golf Expertise. If you are interested then please contact her.

Dan Carter joined us in February 2006 and has soon become a valuable member of the team. After an outstanding Amateur career and playing off 2 handicap Dan turned professional in April 2007. He will be concentrating on selected Europro and Jamega Tour Events during 2008 building experience for future full time European tournament golf. Dan currently has one Major sponsor and a Club Manufacturer to help support his playing career. If you are interested in investing in a potential star then please speak to Dan or Richard.
John McCormack plays a key role as shop assistant in the Upavon Proshop. A regular member of the club league team he has a long career in amateur golf. Now in an advisory role John can be found in the shop giving helpful advice to struggling golfers. As a qualified Electric trolley repair specialist John will often be found in a mechanical role tuning trollies for peak performance.
